감동이 있는 그림책 시리즈 6권 영문판. 주인공 마퀴나세는 호기심을 참지 못하고 엄마가 잠든 사이 집 밖으로 탐험을 나간다. 마퀴나세는 친구들에게 못된 말로 상처를 주기도 한다. 그런 마퀴나세도 결국 위기에 처하자 친구들에게 도움을 청하는데, 하지 말라는 행동을 하다 곤경에 처하는 청개구리 같은 아이들의 모습과 닮아 웃음을 자아낸다.

아이들은 이 상황을 통해 자신의 생각과 감정만이 아니라 상대방의 의견이나 감정도 존중하고 배려할 줄 알아야 한다는 것을 자연스럽게 깨달을 수 있다. 스스로 위험을 깨닫고, 학습하며 세상을 자기만의 방식으로 이해하고 적응해 나가는 아이들에게 깊은 공감과 웃음을 동시에 줄 수 있는 그림책이다.

Publishing ‘An old story of the world’ series
In those stories passed by orally, we can find their lifestyles, custom and experiences. When we read the old stories, we can understand their thoughts in life and learn their wisdom in that country. ‘An old story of the world’ series are not well-known stories to us. Among them, The picture books ‘A Brave Pygmean Boy who stole fire’, 'You are out of control.', and 'Umpunjananya'(new arrival) are selections from Africa myths, fables, and folktales, respectively.
We hope children who read these picture books feel closer the lifestyles and thoughts of African. This series, 'the old stories of the world' will be continued publication, and compiled the intresting worldwide myths, fables, and folktales.

Manaquette, the naughty pig boy made a noise with thoughtless words
Infant children have a lot of curiosity about the objects and surroundings. They grow and their faculties are developed as doing outdoor and explore activities.
Manaquette, the young pig boy, went out of his house and explored the village with a lot of curiosity while his mommy pig was taking a nap. He provoked his friends to anger with thoughtless words. But, then, he was in danger and discarded by his friends. This short story has taught us a valuable lesson, "If you are respectful to others, then will also treat you with respect." And this book is funny yet touching.



The pig family members were taking a nap.
The youngest, Marquette, furtively opened his eyes.
“Okay, let’s go explore the village!” Marquette quietly got out of his house.



Marquette encountered a donkey with long ears.
“Marquette, aren’t you hot? Let’s hang out under the shade here.”
“No, I don’t want to hang out with a donkey like you,
who only has hideous, longish ears.



Marquette encountered a turtle slowly crawling. “Hi, Marquette. Can I join your journey?” “Psh, a turtle that crawls along only this slow can’t catch me up”



Marquette encountered a frog with a big mouth.
“Marquette, why are you so excited?
“It’s none of your business. You better just sew up your big mouth.”



Finally, Marquette just arrived at fences with thorny bushes.
“Sniff, sniff. It smells good here. Getting out of my shelter was definitely a great idea.” Marquette rooted up and ate carrots.
